Personal export
Documents Required:
- Packing list
- Invoice
- Completed (ex 1) ESAD
Listed below are the steps necessary for the exportation of Personal Items:
BY AIR
- Employ the assistance of a Licensed Customs Broker/Courier who will do the following:
- Reserve a booking with the Airline.
- Collect Tally Sheet and Dispatch Form from airline and complete both.
- Prepare Export Declaration (EX1).
- Pay the relevant processing fee to the Jamaica Customs Agency.
- Submit Export Declaration to customs officer along with Tally sheet, Dispatch Form and relevant Permit(s)/Licence(s) if required.
- Deliver goods to airline’s warehouse for weighing, security checks and loading onto aircraft.
BY SEA
- Employ the assistance of a Consolidator/Freight Forwarder if shipment is less than container load (LCL) or
- A licensed Customs Broker if shipment is full container load (FCL) who will do the following:
- Collect and complete relevant documentation from Shipping Agent
- Prepare Export Declaration (EX1)
- Pay for Export Declaration
- Submit Dock Receipt and Assessment Notice to Customs for verification and acceptance.
- Proceed to shipping line with stamped and signed documents for further processing.
NB: The exporter must register with Jamaica Trade and Invest (JAMPRO) if personal items are being exported on a regular basis.
